How to Complete In-Practice Training

In-Practice training is the process of going to individual/combined team practices throughout the year to work with the goalies during the practice. It is important that we connect with the coach so they know we are coming and work and give feedback throughout the practice. After each in-practice training is completed, we have to give feedback in the goalies GEMs account.

  1. Before/Beginning of Season
    1. Make sure every goalie in each association is in GEMs with an account so we can give them feedback
    2. Have a completed document of updated coaches/managers contact information for each association via “bat call”
    3. Have updated goalies for each team
      1. “MEGA Associations” document
    4. Have a completed practice schedule for each team on google sheets so other people can see it
  2. Staffing
    1. Text part time staff members a week before to see what practices they can make it to
    2. Reach out to coach/manager and let them know a goalie coach will be at practice 2-3 days before the practice
    3. Show up 10-15 minutes before practice to show face and meet coach
  3. Practice
    1. Ask the coach how long you get with the goalie
    2. Make sure you get the goalie’s name and introduce yourself
    3. Work with the goalie on something the coach says they need to work on or ask the goalie depending on age (Ex. peewee’s an older)
    4. Give them feedback throughout the practice in between drills and help out coaches if they need anything
  4. After
    1. Upload feedback in gems for the goalie
    2. Confirm the hour with director
