How to create a lesson plan.

First read the email sent out by staff for the week development plan or look on the board in the locker room.

On Ice

North MAP –  Skating: Overspeed With or Without Pucks 

Skills: Odd Man Rushes/ Screens & Tips/Redirection

North FHIT – Skating: Overspeed With or Without Pucks  

Skills: Odd Man Rushes/ Screens & Tips/Redirection

 

West MAPSkating: Overspeed With or Without Pucks

East MAP/FHIT: Skating: Any Skating With Pucks

Off Ice  – Half and Half

North/WestShooting – Redirection with shots on the ice/ground ONLY. Knocking pucks out of the air from close range and then getting in position to shoot quickly

Stick Handling – Coaches choice. Use lanes or stick handling areas based on numbers. 

EastShooting: Changing the Angle of the Shot

Stick Handling – Using lines in lanes to create unique stick handling patterns with shots

 

 Get a drill sheet, look at GEM and figure out how many players will be skating find 4-6 skating drills depending on #s you may need more or less  You can find drills on the Google Doc sheet or in the Coach them or FHIT App. Same for the on ice Skills. For the 20 min game time make sure that the game relates to the skill development for the day.
